2,6-Dicarboxy Pyridinium Chlorochromate
A process for double deuterium labeling of an alcohol was developed.
4-Dimethylamino Pyridinium Chlorochromate
Stable. May react with easily oxidized materials. Incompatible with reducing agents, combustible material, metals, strong reducing agents.
It is chemical reagent generally occurs in solid form.
Pyridinium chlorochromate is a reddish orange solid reagent used to oxidize primary alcohols to aldehydes and secondary alcohols to ketones. Pyridinium chlorochromate, or PCC, will not fully oxidize the alcohol to the carboxylic acid as does the Jones reagent. A disadvantage to using PCC is its toxicity.
