Ammonium metavanadate, NH4VO3, a yellow crystalline solid[1] which dissolves in water, is the most common laboratory vanadate reagent, along with potassium metavanadate, KVO3.
It has formula K3VO4 and has application in Chemical fertiliser industries,as a Corrosion inhibitor Ammonia synthesis Explodes on heating. Upon decomposition it emits toxic fumes of K2O.
It is white to off white powder having formula Na3VO4.
Yttrium orthovanadate (YVO4) is a transparent crystal. It is commonly doped with neodymium to form Nd:YVO4, an active laser medium used in diode-pumped solid-state lasers. Undoped YVO4 is also used to make efficient high-power polarizing prisms similar to GlanTaylor prisms.[1].
